The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has arrested two men, Irfan Kalekhan Pathan (22) from Siddhpur in Patan district and Murshid Zahid Akhtar Sheikh (21) from Sakinaka in Mumbai, for allegedly conspiring to wage war against India and establish a terror network aimed at creating 'Ghazwa-e-Hind' (conquest of India). The ATS reported that Pathan was radicalized through social media and was in contact with individuals linked to ISIS, actively spreading jihadist propaganda. Investigators found plans to recruit 'mujahideens', train them in weapon handling and explosives, and target politicians associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The suspects also discussed imposing Shariat law as part of their conspiracy and were reportedly involved in smuggling arms from Pakistan and Afghanistan. Both men have been remanded to 11-day ATS custody as the investigation continues to uncover further accomplices in the plot.
