Research by Hyundai Motor UK indicates that educational trips can significantly enhance children's learning experiences, with attention levels increasing by 80%, curiosity by 75%, and happiness by 60%. Despite these benefits, 40% of children in the UK either miss out on or nearly miss out on these excursions due to financial constraints faced by their families. Teachers also recognize cost as a major barrier, with 82% citing it as a challenge for schools and 77% for parents. The study, conducted by Dr. Martha Newson from the University of Greenwich, evaluated over 100 children and found marked improvements in excitement, memory-making, inspiration, and self-esteem when learning occurs outside the classroom. The School Experience Index (SE Index) developed from this research aims to help schools assess the impact of trips on children's wellbeing and engagement. Hyundai's Great British School Trip program, which has invested more than £3 million since 2022, aims to provide essential funding for school trips and has reached nearly 30% of UK schools. Ashley Andrew, President of Hyundai Motor and Genesis UK, emphasized the importance of making memorable learning experiences accessible to all children.
