However, attention has also turned to his personal life, particularly regarding his son, Jason Sanjay, who reportedly does not follow Vijay on Instagram. Jason's account lists only 38 people he follows, while Vijay does not follow anyone. This revelation coincides with ongoing divorce proceedings between Vijay and his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, who filed for divorce in February 2026 after alleging infidelity and mental cruelty. The couple, married since 1999, has two children who have largely stayed out of the public eye. Meanwhile, Vijay's political party is in discussions with Congress and other regional parties to secure the necessary support to form the next government in Tamil Nadu, as the state awaits the outcome of post-election negotiations.
