Jalgaon District Collector Rohan Ghuge announced that the district administration has made special preparations in government hospitals to accommodate patients suffering from heat-related illnesses due to a heatwave warning issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for Maharashtra. Separate rooms and beds have been allocated, and all necessary medicines are stocked. Ghuge emphasized the importance of taking precautions during extreme heat, advising residents to limit outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours and to protect themselves if they must go out. The health department has issued advisories detailing preventive measures and warning signs of heat-related illnesses. The IMD has forecasted significant temperature increases in various regions of Maharashtra from April 15 to 19, prompting authorities to urge residents to adhere to safety guidelines. The IMD also warned of changing weather patterns across the country, with heatwave conditions expected in several other states, alongside forecasts of rainfall and thunderstorms in Northeast and Northwest India.
