On Monday, the Supreme Court of India urged Rani Kapur, the mother of late businessman Sunjay Kapur, and his wife, Priya Kapur, to consider mediation regarding their dispute over the RK Family Trust. The trust, associated with the automotive component manufacturer Sona Comstar, is at the center of the conflict. Rani Kapur, aged 80, asserts that she is the sole beneficiary of the estate left by her late husband, Surinder Kapur, who founded the Sona Group and passed away in 2015. The court, led by Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Vijay Bishnoi, stressed that continuing litigation at Rani's age is unproductive and advised both parties to seek a peaceful resolution. The court has issued notices to Priya Kapur and others involved, emphasizing that mediation could be in everyone's best interest to avoid wasting time and resources. Rani Kapur's legal action aims to prevent interference with the estate's assets and ensure their preservation.
