As of the latest reports, Iran has launched between 22 and 24 ballistic missiles at Israel, all of which have been intercepted or fell short of their targets. The Houthis in Yemen also fired two missiles, one of which was intercepted by Israeli air defense. In response, the IDF has conducted airstrikes targeting nine Iranian air defense systems and a petrochemical complex linked to missile production. Additionally, the IDF has recently assassinated mid-senior-level Hezbollah commanders involved in drone operations. IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir has communicated multiple times with US Central Command Chief Adm. Brad Cooper during this conflict. The IDF criticized global media for portraying the situation as a mutual provocation between Iran and Israel, asserting that Iran unilaterally broke a bilateral ceasefire. IDF sources noted that the lack of sufficient air coverage delayed their response to Iran's missile launches, highlighting the complexities of the current military engagement.
