On April 2, a 68-year-old man and his son, in his 30s, were reportedly assaulted by the maintenance manager and bouncers of their housing society in Sector 36, Gurugram, India. The incident arose when the father and son sought to restore their electricity, which had been cut due to unpaid maintenance dues. They asked the facility manager for time to settle their accounts, but were met with verbal abuse and threats. As they attempted to leave, the manager allegedly blocked their path, assaulted the father, and threatened both men. When the son attempted to document the incident, the accused confiscated his phone and deleted the video. Following the incident, the victims filed a complaint at the Bhondsi police station, leading to an FIR being registered under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The police are currently investigating the matter further.
