The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) announced the results of the Madhyamik (Class 10) examination, showing a slight increase in the overall pass rate to 86.83% from 86.53% last year. Kalimpong district led the state with an impressive 95.10% pass percentage, followed by East Medinipur at 94.82% and Kolkata at 92.31%. Abhirup Bhadra from Raiganj in Uttar Dinajpur district emerged as the top scorer with 698 out of 700 marks. Notably, Kolkata schools, known for their quality education, did not have any students in the top 10, prompting WBBSE President Ramanuj Gangopadhyay to express uncertainty over this trend. A total of 9,71,340 candidates registered for the exam, with 9,59,753 actually appearing. The WBBSE has made results accessible online and through mobile apps, and physical mark sheets will be distributed from schools.
