The Pune police, along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), responded quickly, retrieving the IED and safely defusing it through a controlled explosion at the Hadapsar Gliding Centre around 10 PM. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar reported that the IED contained four gelatin sticks, a printed circuit board, a timer, and other components, with the explosion initially set for midnight. While no shrapnel was present, forensic experts are investigating the materials used in the device. A case has been registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including attempted murder.
