Pune city police are investigating the death of 61-year-old Ashok Milapchand Jain, a businessman with ventures in the textile and sugar industries, who was found dead in a hotel room in the Deccan Gymkhana area. Jain had been reported missing after leaving his home on May 9 and failing to respond to family calls. The police were alerted by the hotel staff when Jain did not answer knocks on his door. Upon entering the room, officers discovered Jain's body along with signs of vomiting, suggesting possible poisoning. A note found at the scene, believed to be written by Jain, references personal and financial issues. Authorities have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, which covers unnatural deaths, including suicides. The investigation continues as police plan to interview Jain's family and business associates.
