Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the 'Seva and Rescue Campaign' on May 11, aiming to provide immediate assistance to the sick and homeless individuals living on the streets of Delhi. The campaign, which will run until May 15, is a collaborative effort involving the Delhi government's social welfare department, Apna Ghar Ashram, and Seva Bharti. Gupta flagged off a fleet of 19 rescue ambulances and 10 support vehicles, staffed by approximately 100 personnel and 50 volunteers. The initiative targets over 300 vulnerable individuals, focusing on those suffering from serious illnesses such as tuberculosis, cancer, and AIDS. Rescued individuals will be taken to Apna Ghar Ashram for treatment, food, and rehabilitation, with efforts made to reunite them with their families when possible. As of the campaign's launch, around 20 individuals have already been rescued.
