Uttarakhand's Additional Commissioner of Food and Civil Supplies, PS Pangti, reassured residents that there is no shortage of domestic or commercial LPG gas and CNG in the state. He emphasized that supplies are being maintained according to demand, particularly along the Char Dham Yatra routes, which are crucial for the ongoing pilgrimage season. Despite geopolitical issues affecting global energy markets, Pangti stated that fuel supplies remain stable. However, petrol and diesel prices have seen significant increases across major Indian cities, driven by ongoing volatility in global energy prices. For instance, petrol in Delhi has risen to ₹99.51 per litre, while diesel is at ₹92.49 per litre. This price surge is attributed to the global energy crisis, particularly due to the conflict in West Asia affecting maritime trade routes. Oil marketing companies, including Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), have assured consumers that fuel supplies across India are uninterrupted and that there is sufficient stock available despite increased demand at some outlets.
