On Wednesday, the Uttar Pradesh State Archives will celebrate its 77th Foundation Day with an exhibition at Shaheed Smriti Bhavan in Lucknow. This event will showcase rare manuscripts, historical government records, and archival files, aiming to educate students, researchers, and the public about India's manuscript traditions and archival heritage. The theme of the exhibition is 'Importance of manuscripts in Indian knowledge tradition and their relevance for future generations.' Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh expressed the desire for younger generations to connect with historical records, highlighting their role in preserving India's civilizational and cultural legacy. Established in 1949 as a central records office in Allahabad and relocated to Lucknow in 1973, the UP State Archives preserves government records older than 30 years, along with rare books and historical documents.
