Raman Chandi, a spokesperson for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab, was arrested by Khanna police on Tuesday under preventive measures related to a land dispute. Hours before the arrest, he posted a video on Facebook alleging police harassment orchestrated by unnamed political figures. Chandi claimed that attempts were being made to seize his agricultural land, which he described as his family's only source of income, and expressed frustration over a lack of justice over the past four years. Following his arrest, he was taken to the deputy superintendent of police's office and held for nearly two hours before being formally charged under Sections 126 and 170 of the BNSS (Bihar Police Act). After appearing in court, he was sent to Ludhiana Central Jail but was granted bail the following day. Khanna's senior superintendent of police, Darpan Ahluwalia, stated that the arrest was made following a complaint and that the land dispute had been reviewed by senior officers.
