On Monday night, 40-year-old Raju Adivasi was murdered in Chand Khambhariya village, located in the Prayagraj district of India, due to a financial dispute with his relative, Krishnakant Adivasi. Raju, who had recently returned from a job in Mumbai, was attacked around 11:45 PM while riding home from a wedding with two villagers. Krishnakant and several associates allegedly ambushed them near an SBI bank branch, stabbing Raju multiple times before fleeing the scene. Despite being rushed to the Community Health Centre in Meja, he was declared dead upon arrival. Raju's family reported that he had previously repaid ₹7,000 (approximately $84 USD) but was being pressured for an additional ₹2.15 lakh (around $2,580 USD), with threats made against his life. Following the incident, police have registered a case against five individuals, including Krishnakant, who are currently in custody. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
