The Ejipura flyover, often referred to as Bengaluru's 'Stonehenge', is anticipated to be operational by October 2023. This 2.38-km elevated corridor aims to enhance traffic flow between the Inner Ring Road and the National Highway on Hosur Road. Initially slated for completion in November 2019 with a budget of ₹203.20 crore (approximately $24.5 million USD), the project has faced significant delays and cost overruns, now totaling around ₹1,761 crore (roughly $213 million USD). The project was initiated in 2017 but stalled for nearly five years during the BJP's governance. After the Congress party regained power, work resumed in November 2023. The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has expressed confidence in the project's completion, with most construction segments already cast and installation work nearing completion. The original contractor, Simplex Infrastructure Limited, faced issues that led to contract termination, and BSCPL Infrastructures Limited has since taken over to expedite the project.
