Following a recent inspection by Shivani Rawat, secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), officials were directed to enhance health and hygiene measures for vulnerable inmates, particularly infants and the elderly, as temperatures rise. The review covered critical aspects of prison management, including cleanliness, food quality, and healthcare services. Jail superintendent Brajesh Kumar emphasized the importance of maintaining hygiene and ensuring adequate nutrition, especially during the summer months. Additionally, vocational and rehabilitation programs supported by an NGO are being conducted, providing inmates with training in skills such as hairdressing, music, and painting to aid in their rehabilitation. The inspection confirmed that no inmates are being held beyond their legally prescribed sentence period.
