In anticipation of a new government led by the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party in Tamil Nadu, senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers are making concerted efforts to secure crucial police postings. Notable figures such as Director Generals of Police (DGPs) Sandeep Rai Rathore and Davidson Devasirvatham, along with Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Amalraj, have engaged with political leaders to express their interest in key roles, including the city police commissioners and the state intelligence chief. As part of this transition, P Dharmarajan has been appointed to oversee the Core Cell of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which is responsible for the chief minister's convoy and route security, replacing S Thirunavukarasu. The lobbying efforts extend across various ranks, with officers reaching out to political intermediaries and even leveraging connections in the film industry to gain favor for their desired postings.
