The Ludhiana district administration in Punjab has reported that 72% of the voter mapping process has been completed as part of the pre-special intensive revision (pre-SIR) exercise initiated by the Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab. This exercise focuses on matching names in the current electoral roll with those from 2003. Out of 2,700,999 voters in the district, 1,922,543 electors have already been successfully matched by booth level officers (BLOs). Poonam Singh, the additional deputy commissioner and additional district election officer, visited Jawaddi Kalan in the Ludhiana West constituency to oversee the process and interact with residents. She emphasized the importance of community cooperation in the door-to-door verification process and encouraged voters to provide the necessary documents. Voters can verify their details on the Election Commission of India website or the Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab's website, and for any queries, they can call the toll-free helpline number 1950.
