Shares of Nelco, a Tata Group satellite communication company, surged over 13% to reach a high of ₹767.25 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) following the release of its Q4 FY26 results. The company reported a net profit of ₹1.1 crore, marking a significant turnaround from a net loss of ₹4.04 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue also grew by 17.3% year-on-year, reaching ₹79.2 crore, compared to ₹67.5 crore in Q4 FY25. Despite this quarterly success, Nelco's annual net profit for FY26 declined by 65% to ₹3.32 crore, down from ₹9.53 crore in FY25, while annual revenue saw a slight increase to ₹306.60 crore from ₹304.87 crore. The company's board has recommended a final dividend of ₹1 per share, amounting to a 10% return on equity shares with a face value of ₹10 each. Kranthi Bathini, director of equity strategy at WealthMills Securities, noted that Nelco's performance turnaround has led to a sharp increase in stock price, although trading volumes remain low. He highlighted that the cyclical nature of Nelco's business makes it suitable for investors with a higher risk appetite.
