The Gautam Budh Nagar administration in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, has initiated its heat action plan in response to rising temperatures, despite the India Meteorological Department (IMD) not issuing a formal heatwave warning. District magistrate Medha Roopam announced that various departments must ensure preparedness in healthcare, labor safety, and essential services. Healthcare facilities are required to maintain 24/7 doctor availability and stock essential medicines and oral rehydration solutions (ORS). Civic bodies are instructed to install drinking water facilities and cooling arrangements in public areas like bus stands and markets. Schools must guarantee uninterrupted electricity, functional fans, and safe drinking water access, along with awareness campaigns about heat-related illnesses. Special measures are being taken for outdoor workers, advising them to avoid peak work hours and ensuring they have access to shade and hydration. The power department is tasked with ensuring an uninterrupted supply, while fire services remain on alert. Current temperatures in Noida are recorded at a maximum of 33.9°C, with forecasts predicting a rise to 35–36°C by May 10.
