Apple is poised to unveil a standalone Siri app alongside the iOS 27 release at the upcoming WWDC 2026. This new app, powered by Google Gemini, aims to fulfill the long-anticipated AI capabilities of Siri. It will feature a chat-like interface that allows users to engage in conversations with Siri for follow-up queries and even upload files to receive specific answers. A new gesture is expected to enable quick access to the Siri chatbot from any screen, enhancing user convenience.

Privacy is a significant focus for this upgrade, with features allowing users to automatically delete their chat history after 30 days, one year, or retain it indefinitely, mirroring the disappearing messages feature found in iMessage. Furthermore, Apple intends to run the Gemini-based Siri on its Private Cloud Compute servers, which would help maintain its commitment to user privacy by keeping data management in-house rather than relying on Google.
