Citi analysts have unveiled a new model predicting that the server CPU market will reach $132 billion by 2030, reflecting a robust 35% compound annual growth rate from $29.3 billion in 2025. This growth will be fueled primarily by agentic CPUs, which are expected to achieve a staggering 185% CAGR, ultimately accounting for 45% of the market, with projected revenues of $59.4 billion. General-purpose CPUs are anticipated to grow at a 20% CAGR, reaching $50.9 billion, while AI head nodes will expand at a 21% CAGR to $21.1 billion. The market share landscape will see Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) leading with 47%, followed by Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) at 34%, and ARM along with other competitors making up the remaining 19%. Citi has also raised its price targets for both Intel and AMD, reflecting increased expectations for data center sales and potential gains from Intel’s ASIC business. AMD is viewed as a key beneficiary in what analysts are calling a CPU renaissance, especially with its MI450 AI accelerator, which is reportedly set to be adopted by Anthropic.
