Alim Albuhari, a leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party, has launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing it of exhibiting greater arrogance than the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This criticism arises amid a growing rift between the two parties in Tamil Nadu, particularly after Congress's decision to support the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) led by C Joseph Vijay, which has caused significant discontent within the DMK. Albuhari expressed that the DMK initially joined the INDIA alliance with hopes that Congress would uphold federalism, but has since felt let down by Congress's actions. He pointed out that even Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is wary of joining the alliance due to Congress's perceived arrogance. The rift has deepened following the recent Tamil Nadu elections, where Congress's support for TVK has been viewed as a betrayal, leading to the dissolution of their long-standing alliance. Albuhari emphasized that the people voted for Congress candidates to support DMK's M.K. Stalin as Chief Minister, but Congress's actions have shown a lack of respect and discipline, making it difficult for them to effectively oppose the BJP.
