The INDIA Bloc will hold a crucial meeting at the Constitution Club in New Delhi to mend rifts following disappointing electoral results in four states and a union territory. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh stated that representatives from 23 parties will attend, emphasizing a unified front against the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). However, significant allies like the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will not participate, citing internal disputes and previous exits from the alliance. The DMK condemned Congress's recent alliance with the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in Tamil Nadu as a betrayal, while tensions with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha have arisen over candidate nominations. The meeting will also address the underlying conflicts that have surfaced during state elections, particularly in West Bengal and Kerala. Furthermore, there are concerns regarding Rahul Gandhi's leadership, with some factions suggesting alternative leaders for the upcoming 2029 General Elections. The INDIA Bloc's ability to present a united front is critical as they prepare for future elections against a strong NDA campaign.
