In a road rage incident in Paonta, Sirmaur district, a man identified as Farhan from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a police constable. The incident occurred on Wednesday when Constable Rajesh Chinta, who is part of the Himachal Pradesh Police’s 6th Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn), was heading out for lunch. Farhan, driving aggressively, attempted to overtake Chinta's scooter, nearly causing an accident. When the constable signaled him to stop, Farhan became confrontational and physically assaulted him. A video of the incident, which has gone viral, shows the constable trying to escape while being forcibly pulled back by the assailant. The altercation resulted in the constable's scooter falling over. Following the incident, police promptly arrested Farhan and registered a case based on the constable's complaint. This incident is part of a troubling trend, as earlier this week, there were multiple assaults on Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) drivers, prompting police to increase vigilance in the area.
