Mahavir Singh, the Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), has called for utmost caution and responsibility in executing examination-related tasks. This directive follows a high-level meeting addressing the confidentiality of answer scripts after a controversial incident where answer sheets were seen being transported in ordinary public buses. A video circulating on social media raised alarms about the security of these documents. In response, HPU formed an inquiry committee to investigate the matter thoroughly. The preliminary inquiry indicated that the transportation of answer sheets was consistent with standard practices, with messengers used in urban areas and postal services for remote locations. Despite this, the university plans to issue warnings to colleges to enhance their responsibility in managing examination materials. Singh reiterated that maintaining the integrity and transparency of the examination process remains a top priority for HPU.
