The Delhi government has launched the eSAM (e-System for Asset Management) platform to monitor its movable and immovable assets in real-time. This initiative addresses the fragmented ownership of over 16,000 land parcels and properties across nearly 60 departments. The eSAM portal will serve as the single authoritative source for managing the lifecycle of all assets owned by the government, including land, buildings, equipment, and vehicles. By creating a consolidated database, the system aims to enhance audit compliance, reduce risks of asset misuse, and improve inter-departmental coordination. All newly procured assets must be logged immediately, and departments are required to maintain real-time records of asset allocation. The implementation of this system is mandatory from May 1, following a directive from the information technology department. Training sessions have already been conducted to familiarize officials with the new operational procedures and functionalities of the eSAM system.
