On Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met with 36 families from the A-3 block in Harsh Vihar, Gokulpuri, to provide them with electricity connections for the first time after years of waiting. The families expressed their gratitude, highlighting how this resolution has brought relief and hope to their lives. The Chief Minister noted that many residents had been waiting for regular power connections since 2018, primarily due to the absence of land for the necessary Electric Sub-Station (ESS). Following her intervention, coordination among relevant stakeholders led to the acquisition of land for a transformer, allowing the power distribution company to expedite the installation of infrastructure. The electrification work is now complete, and the process of installing electricity meters is underway, with most demand notes already issued. Gupta emphasized the importance of public grievance hearings in swiftly resolving citizens' issues and reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring that basic services reach all residents promptly. She directed officials to ensure that remaining families also receive electricity connections within the stipulated timeframe.
