In a disturbing incident in Selai village near Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu, a 35-year-old man was caught attempting to sexually assault an 80-year-old woman. The attack occurred late Saturday night while the elderly woman was asleep in her home. According to police reports, the man, who was under the influence of alcohol, broke into her house and made the assault attempt. However, the woman bravely fought back, using a stick to defend herself, which prompted the attacker to flee the scene. During his hasty escape, he inadvertently left his mobile phone behind. Shortly after the incident, the woman’s relatives and neighbors rushed to help upon hearing the commotion. When the man returned to the area looking for his phone, he was apprehended by the residents, who then handed him over to the Tiruvallur Taluk police. Authorities have detained the suspect and are currently conducting further investigations into the case.
