In a peculiar case in Bengaluru's Nelamangala area, a young man named Ramu allegedly swallowed a police lock-up key while being interrogated about the disappearance of a 17-year-old girl. This incident occurred at the Madanayakanahalli Police Station, where Ramu panicked, fearing potential charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act). Following the incident, he was rushed to a local private hospital for emergency treatment. Medical professionals initially considered surgery but opted for a non-invasive approach, allowing the key to pass naturally. Over three days, Ramu was placed under close observation and consumed nearly 10 kilograms of bananas to facilitate this process. Ultimately, the key was successfully retrieved, and Ramu was discharged back to police custody. Following his recovery, authorities registered a separate case against him for the alleged suicide attempt. Meanwhile, the investigation into the missing girl continues.
