The Andhra Pradesh Police have dismantled an interstate gang responsible for two major highway robberies on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru National Highway (NH-44), resulting in total thefts of ₹5.8 crore (approximately $700,000 USD). The arrests of 10 individuals were made by the Sri Sathya Sai District Police, who discovered that the gang had traveled from Kerala through Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to execute their crimes. The first robbery occurred on December 3, 2025, where assailants intercepted a cash-carrying vehicle, abducted two individuals, and stole ₹2.8 crore. In a subsequent incident on February 21, another vehicle was targeted, and ₹3 crore was stolen. To evade detection, the gang utilized multiple vehicles with counterfeit plates and communicated using fake SIM cards and VOIP services. The police have recovered ₹1.26 crore in cash and various vehicles, while efforts continue to apprehend the remaining members of the gang, which is believed to have a total of 21 operatives across several states.
