In a shocking incident in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, police discovered the body of 28-year-old Suraj Gautam, a contractual sanitation worker at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), near a secluded lake in the Bijnor area. His face and head were severely mutilated. Following a swift investigation, police arrested Anil Kumar Yadav, 22, and detained a 17-year-old relative for the murder, which stemmed from Suraj's alleged relationship with Anil's mother. Reports indicate that Anil had witnessed Suraj in a compromising situation with his mother two months prior and had warned him to stay away. On the night of May 8, Anil and his relative lured Suraj to a remote location, where they forced him to consume alcohol before attacking him with a chopper and a brick. The suspects attempted to conceal their crime by washing blood from their clothes and attending a wedding afterward. Police recovered the murder weapon and Suraj's phone based on their disclosures. Both suspects have been charged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act.
