The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in New Delhi is currently ₹3,071.50, following a significant increase of ₹993 on May 1, 2023. In Mumbai, the price is ₹3,024, while it stands at ₹3,202 in Kolkata and ₹3,237 in Chennai. Household LPG cylinder prices remain stable, with rates at ₹913 in Delhi, ₹912.50 in Mumbai, ₹939 in Kolkata, and ₹928.50 in Chennai. The Indian government has assured consumers that there is no shortage of LPG, despite the ongoing West Asia crisis affecting imports. Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, stated that efforts are being made to ensure uninterrupted supply, with 70% of commercial supply being maintained. The government has sold over 15,900 tonnes of commercial LPG in the last two days to improve availability.
