The court, presided over by Judicial Magistrate Girish Mane, stated that evidence presented was sufficient to frame charges against the accused. A chargesheet filed in March 2022 detailed how the accused allegedly downloaded images from social media and operated multiple anonymous accounts across various platforms, including Twitter and Instagram. The charges against them include Section 153(a) (promoting enmity), Section 295(a) (outraging religious feelings), Section 354(d) (stalking), Section 500 (defamation), and Section 509 (insulting modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code, along with relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. The case arose after a complaint was lodged on January 1, 2022, when a woman discovered her photograph alongside others on the app with derogatory remarks.
