The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is set to launch the E-PRAAPTI portal, designed to help members access their old and inoperative Employee Provident Fund (EPF) accounts. Union Minister for Labour and Employment Mansukh Mandaviya announced that the portal will allow members to track their accounts without needing a Universal Account Number (UAN). E-PRAAPTI, which stands for ‘Employee Provident Fund Aadhaar-Based Access Portal for Tracking Inoperative Accounts’, aims to streamline the recovery process and enhance transparency by utilizing Aadhaar-based authentication. The initial rollout will focus on member IDs for security, with plans to expand access for those who cannot recall their old IDs. The initiative is expected to provide relief to older EPF members and improve financial inclusion. In related news, the EPFO reported settling a record 8.31 crore claims in FY26, up from 6.01 crore in FY25, with 71.11% of advance claims processed automatically within three days, reflecting improved access to provident fund accounts.
