Rahul Meena, the suspect in the rape and murder of a 22-year-old woman in Southeast Delhi, allegedly spent almost an hour in her home. The victim, who was an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) graduate preparing for civil services, was assaulted and strangled with a cellphone charging cable. Police reports indicate that Meena entered the victim's rooftop room around 6:29 am, where he attacked her after she screamed. Following the assault, he attempted to access a locker but was unsuccessful with the biometric lock. Instead, he used a screwdriver to open it, stealing ₹2.5 lakh (approximately $3,000 USD) in cash along with the victim's iPhone. Meena changed his blood-stained clothes and fled the scene about 50 minutes later, at 7:20 am, as confirmed by CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts. Notably, the CCTV cameras inside the house were not functioning at the time of the incident.
