Delhi experienced a refreshing change in weather on Monday, with strong winds and scattered light showers leading to a significant drop in the air quality index (AQI) to 88, classified as 'satisfactory.' This marks the lowest AQI since October 2022 and a notable improvement from 175 the previous day. The winds, which reached speeds of up to 70 km/h, disrupted flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport, resulting in 24 flights being diverted. In response to the improved air quality, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) lifted Stage-1 measures of the Graded Response Action Plan, which had been in place since April 16. The maximum temperature in Delhi settled at 32.2°C, significantly lower than the previous day's 36.6°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts more rain late Monday night and early Tuesday, with temperatures expected to rise again later in the week.
