On Friday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police attached the immovable property of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, alias Hyder, a proclaimed offender associated with the terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) operating from Pakistan. This marks the second property attachment in Sopore within a 24-hour period, emphasizing the police's ongoing efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem in the region. The properties involved include six marlas of land in Daengrut Rohama and ten marlas in Reshinar Rohama, collectively valued in lakhs of Rupees. Bhat is accused of illegally crossing into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to receive arms and ammunition training and has been evading legal proceedings for an extended time. He was declared a 'Proclaimed Offender' by a court under Section 88 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The attachment was carried out in collaboration with the revenue department, following thorough verification of land records and local inquiries. The Jammu and Kashmir Police have reiterated their strong commitment to combating terrorism, terror financing, and any support for terrorist organizations, ensuring that strict legal actions are enforced against individuals involved in such activities.
