On May 2, 2023, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met with representatives from the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) unions to discuss their demands, including a merger with the government. Reddy assured the unions that the government would fulfill their pay revision demands and agreed to compensate employees for three days of recent strikes. He also called for improved relations between employees and management. The government has allocated 100 acres for a new bus terminal at Gajula Ramaram and plans to allocate 150 acres near the international airport for another terminal. Following successful negotiations on April 24, the government accepted key demands from the employees' Joint Action Committee (JAC), including a 11% pay revision and elections for the unions.
