A 19-year-old undergraduate student was allegedly raped in a secluded area of the Fatehpur Sikri complex in Agra district, India. The incident occurred when the victim, who resides in a nearby village, went to relieve herself. She was reportedly chased by two men, one of whom assaulted her while the other kept watch. After the attack, she filed a complaint at the Fatehpur Sikri police station. Police quickly formed teams to apprehend the suspects. The main accused, identified as Kasim alias Mirchi, was arrested following an encounter with police, during which he was shot in the leg after allegedly opening fire. Kasim, aged 25, has a criminal history, previously jailed for murder. Police recovered a country-made pistol from him. His accomplice, Sanjay Qureshi, managed to escape and is currently being sought by authorities. The case has raised serious concerns about safety at the historical site, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
