Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu conducted a review of the Delhi Development Authority's (DDA) desilting action plan for 2026 on Wednesday, emphasizing the need for timely completion of drain-related works by June 15. This initiative is aimed at reducing waterlogging as the monsoon season approaches. The review included assessments of desilting efforts across six DDA zones and focused on 11 identified locations prone to waterlogging, primarily in the south and east zones of Delhi. Sandhu stressed that no laxity would be tolerated regarding the quality of work and adherence to deadlines. The DDA oversees a total of 494.876 kilometers of drains, with significant lengths in Rohini, Narela, and Dwarka.
