The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has claimed that its Facebook and Instagram accounts were suspended due to pressure from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of local body elections in Gujarat. AAP state president Isudan Gadhvi stated that their social media accounts achieved a reach of 8 crore in the past 28 days, with 7.19 lakh followers on Facebook and 3.2 lakh on Instagram. He emphasized that the BJP's fear of AAP's growing social media presence motivated the suspension. AAP leader Sagar Rabari highlighted a 196% increase in Instagram engagement and a 184% rise on Facebook, attributing the suspension to the party's success in garnering public attention. Meanwhile, Congress leaders, including Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee president Amit Chavda, accused AAP of acting as a 'B team' for the BJP, suggesting that both parties are misleading voters. The local body elections are scheduled for Sunday, providing an opportunity for voters to express their opinions on the parties involved.
