Patliputra University (PPU) in Patna has concluded its online application process for undergraduate (UG) Part-I courses under the four-year Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for the academic session 2026-30. Over one lakh candidates have applied for various programs in arts, science, and commerce offered by colleges in Patna and Nalanda districts. PPU has approximately 1.25 lakh seats available across its constituent and affiliated colleges, including 16 newly established degree colleges. According to Rajeev Ranjan, PPU's dean of students’ welfare, history emerged as the most popular subject in the arts stream, attracting nearly 20,000 applications. In the science stream, zoology led with around 13,000 applications, indicating a growing interest in life sciences. The admission process is fully online to ensure transparency, with the first merit list set to be published on June 13, and admissions commencing the following day. Candidates will have the opportunity to rectify any errors in their applications on June 9 and 10 before the merit list is finalized.
