The online application phase for undergraduate Part-I courses at Patliputra University (PPU) has concluded, with over 100,000 applicants vying for a place in the 2026-30 academic session. PPU offers approximately 125,000 seats across its constituent and affiliated colleges, including 16 newly established degree colleges in arts, science, and commerce. According to Rajeev Ranjan, PPU's dean of students’ welfare, history emerged as the most sought-after subject in the arts stream, garnering nearly 20,000 applications. In the science stream, zoology attracted around 13,000 applications, reflecting a growing interest in life sciences. Other popular subjects included political science with 9,666 applications, geography with 8,233, and Hindi with 7,903. The admission process is fully online to enhance transparency, with the first merit list set to be released on June 13 and admissions commencing the following day. Applicants will have the chance to correct any errors in their forms on June 9 and 10 before the merit list is finalized, according to registrar Abu Bakar.
