On Wednesday morning, two friends, Sujit Singh (34) and Amit Kumar (26), tragically lost their lives when an out-of-control pickup truck struck them on the Patna-Buxar four-lane highway in Bhojpur district, Bihar, India. The accident occurred near the New Koilwar six-lane bridge as they were returning home to Katesar village after attending a wedding in Mahuli village. Amit died instantly, while Sujit succumbed to his injuries en route to the Koilwar Community Health Center. The driver of the pickup fled the scene, prompting local police to initiate an investigation. Narottam Chandra, the Station House Officer of Koilwar, confirmed that a complaint has been filed by Amit’s father, Nanda Mahto, and details have been forwarded to the Ara traffic police station for further action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, an Indian penal code. Both victims were known in their community, with Sujit operating a cyber café and Amit working at a local café.
