The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has set the schedule for the Class 10 second board examinations, which will start on May 15 with the Mathematics (Basic and Standard) paper and conclude on May 21 with the Social Science exam. This initiative is part of CBSE's two-board examination policy, allowing students who appeared in the first main board exam to improve their scores in any three subjects, including science, mathematics, social science, and languages. The main board examination results were released on April 15, showing a slight increase in the overall pass percentage to 93.70% from 93.66% in 2025. Girls achieved a pass percentage of 94.99%, while boys recorded 92.69%. However, the performance of transgender candidates decreased to 87.50% compared to 95% last year. This year's Class 10 students are the first to be assessed under the new two-board exam system, which aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) aimed at alleviating the stress associated with board examinations. Final results will be announced after the second board examinations, with grading based on the combined results of both exams.
