Under the Karnataka government's 'Bhoo Guarantee' scheme, Bengaluru property owners can convert their B-Khata properties to A-Khata starting May 16, 2026, with a significantly reduced regularization fee of 2% of the guidance value, down from 5%. This initiative aims to assist landowners in regularizing unapproved properties, thereby facilitating access to civic services and legal documentation. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar highlighted the scheme's importance in simplifying property ownership and providing clarity to many families in Bengaluru. A-Khata certificates are issued for properties that comply with municipal regulations, while B-Khata properties often face challenges in securing loans and approvals due to documentation issues. The Greater Bengaluru Authority has also digitized over 23 lakh property records, which will be delivered free of cost to citizens, enhancing transparency and reducing the risk of fraud. Outreach camps will be set up at 52 locations across the city to assist property owners in taking advantage of this scheme.
