On Wednesday, 25 sarpanches and representatives from nearly 50 villages in the Sahnewal Vidhan Sabha constituency, Punjab, submitted a memorandum to the Ludhiana deputy commissioner demanding an immediate stop to illegal mining activities. Led by Pritpal Singh Baliawal, a spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the group expressed their frustration over the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) failure to fulfill promises to end illegal mining.
