Qualcomm Technologies has launched two new mobile platforms, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, aimed at enhancing mid-range smartphones in India, a key market for the company. Chris Patrick, Senior Vice President at Qualcomm, emphasized the platforms' ability to deliver improved connectivity, gaming capabilities, battery efficiency, and overall performance to a broader audience. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 is set to power upcoming devices from Xiaomi, while the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 will debut on smartphones from OPPO, realme, and Xiaomi.

In addition to the chipsets, Qualcomm announced a partnership with boAt to introduce Snapdragon Sound to India, with the first product being the boAt Nirvana Eutopia 2 Pro. This audio platform aims to enhance wireless audio performance across various devices. Shyam Vedantam, Chief Product Officer at boAt, highlighted the collaboration's focus on codec optimization and connectivity improvements for high-fidelity audio.

Smartphone brands collaborating with Qualcomm are also prioritizing performance and accessibility. OPPO noted its focus on enhancing graphics and AI capabilities, while realme aims to expand access to premium features in India. Xiaomi expressed that the new platforms would support improved multitasking and smoother performance across various price segments.
